Arrive Leh 3500 metres/11000ft and check into hotel. You would require about 5 /6 hours for acclimatization( body getting use to high altitude condotions), lunch at hotel, after lunch visit Shanti Stupa, a white domed stupa constructed by Japanese and Ladakh Buddhists in 1991 followed by walk in local market of Leh. Overnight in Leh.
Alchi monastery (only monastery in Ladakh on flat ground), Likir monastery, located near bank of river Indus is a house to 75 feet tall statue of golden Maitreya Buddha, followed by a visit to Spituk monastery. Further visit Magnetic hill (gravity defiance point), Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Leh Hall of Fame (Kargil War memorabilia). Overnight in Leh.
Day excursion to famous monasteries in Leh, leave early in morning to witness ‘praying ceremony’ at Thiksey monastery followed by one of the biggest monasteries of Leh “Hemis”, while returning visit Shey Palace, built in 1655 the palace is now ruined, but one can enjoy soothing view from top of palace. Then proceed to Sankar Gompa also known as Sankar monastery located in northern part of Leh city. Overnight in Leh.
Khardungla pass day excursion, after breakfast head to Khardungla pass, the highest motor able pass in the world at 5600 metres. Enjoy spectacular beauty of snow-capped mountains while sipping tea or having soup at Khardungla pass. Evening visit Leh Palace, built in 17th century the palace shows panoramic view of Leh city. Overnight at hotel.
Pangong lake day excursion, after breakfast a scenic ride towards Pangong Lake, en-route cross Chang La pass 5486 metres and enjoy the picturesque beauty of lake Pangong at an altitude of approx. 4300 metres bisected by international border between India and China. Drive back to Leh. Overnight in Leh / Option to experience staying in a tented accommodation for star gazing by lake shore at Pangog.
